In the corporate world, handwriting analysis is a very important tool in the process of recruiting new employees i.e. in selecting executive, manager, engineer, director etc. 

The candidates do not have to answer 350 plus questions and they even do not need to know that they are being analyzed.

The qualifications of the respective candidates will be known through their resume and certificates while their personalities could be evaluated from how they represent themselves in an interview and through their handwriting.   

Through handwriting analysis, you could tell whether candidates  can follow instructions, know their learning ability, their honesty, how focus they are, could they complete a project on time, could they analyze data and make conclusions and lots of other qualities that will eventually help your company grow. 

Various conservative estimates put the number of U.S. companies using graphology or handwriting analysis are somewhere around 5,000 – 10,000.  Experts agree that these numbers would probably be higher as many companies do not want to publicly be known that they are using handwriting analysis as the screening tool.

In France alone, 80% of the top 500 companies use handwriting analysis to screen prospective employees.

Example of handwriting analysis done in the process of hiring new employees:

His qualifications show that he has all the qualifications needed to be an engineer. 

However truthfully is he qualified? Would he be able to work with the team? Would he be able to follow instructions?  Could he get the job assigned done?

From his handwriting, the applicant above has good concentration and could focus well on what he is doing. He has practical self-esteem and quite high goals i.e. he knows what he wants i.e. the one that benefits him and he plans on how to get it.

He would follow rules and would be able to complete the project within the time frame.

He could relate to other people's problems and would be sympathetic towards sad stories however he still make decisions based on facts and logics.

The applicant above has a desire to satisfy his own curiosity.  He could take ten ideas or data gathered by his subordinate and quickly formulate it to an idea that works.

Based on the simple analysis above, yes his handwriting revealed that he is qualified to be an engineer.

Another example of handwriting analysis as tool to assist in the hiring process:

The handwriting above revealed that Mr X works more efficiently if given time and space on his own.  Mr X does not like to be rushed.  He feels great pressure when there is a time limit assigned on him. When time pressure is put on him, his mind tends to go blank.

Mr X likes to have all the facts before making any decision.  Mr X thinks or creates or understand things by stacking facts upon facts for example when he reads book, he needs to read page-by-page to understand the whole book. 

He accumulates knowledge and fits facts together like a jigsaw puzzle to build a whole mental picture.  He normally asks for repetition or confirmation on certain aspect of things.  Mr X collects data as to understand everything deeply and thoroughly.

Mr X learns faster through demonstration rather than reading a manual or verbal instruction.  Mr X learns easier through experiencing the work himself rather than observing somebody else do it. 

Once he has learned and understand the formulation for example, he will never forget it. Mr X is able to build new things and come out with new ideas based on his previously learned formulation.

Mr X is a person that can be trusted.

If the company is looking for an accountant then Mr X would be a suitable candidate to fill the position.  Of course the you must take into consideration the qualification that Mr X has. 

However if the company is looking for an effective salesperson then Mr X would not be the most suitable candidate to choose.

Let's just call this person Ms Y.

Though Ms Y has a high self-esteem and high self-confidence and looking at a resume, you can see that she has very high qualifications.

If you ask me, I would say that it is a great risk to hire Ms X for a position in your company.  This is due to Ms X has a fear of success traits shown all over her handwriting sample. 

Fear of success is a self-sabotaging trait that can be very damaging and a great loss to both the writer and the company.  For example if you assigned Ms X on a project, she may suddenly pull out of a project that nearly is nearly completed that could cause your company to lose millions of dollars.

Then again the choice is yours.  I could advise you on what you will be facing but if you are willing to take the risk then it would be totally up to you.

How to use handwriting analysis  as a tool to evaluate the existing employee?

A number of reasons for termination of employee would be due to frequent tardiness, insubordination, lack of productivity and inability to work with others. 

However the most critical situation where immediate termination would be necessary is due to theft conduct.

Employee theft could cost companies billions of dollars, forces companies to close down and companies have to spend billions annually to improve the security.

Though handwriting analysis done on the handwriting samples could not determine the absolute guilt; handwriting analysis could narrow the field of suspects, can determine who is prone to lying and also who is feeling stressed or anxious.

Let's give the writer name as Mr Z:

From the handwriting sample you are able to identify that there is an honesty issue with Mr Z.  His handwriting shows that he is prone to lying. Though you may not know what he is lying about; you know that Mr A is lying about something.

Based on the handwriting analysis results, you can narrow down the number of suspects for further investigation

Handwriting analysis as a tool to identify effective work relationship

Sometimes when a team is working on a project, the you as the team leader would find that your team is not agreeing with each other or trying to compete against each other instead of working together.

These situations would not be productive to the project you are working on.  These situations may occur due to the differences in your team's members emotions and personalities.

Handwriting analysis could assist in:

1. Helping managers bring together compatible people who can work effectively as a team
2. Avoiding unnecessary conflict
3. Avoiding a drop in productivity
4. Avoiding a drop in employee morale

Let me show you an example:

Let's call the below as Mr A's handwriting sample:

Mr A's handwriting shows that he mix well with both extrovert and introvert people.  He has a moderate self-esteem and will not put off the job that need to be done until the last minute.

Let's call the below writer, Mr B:

Mr B is very expressive and demonstrative.  He has a fluidity of thought, enthusiastic and spontaneous in the things that he does.  He will not put-off the things that need to be done today; till tomorrow.

After comparing both handwriting samples, the you would now know that both persons could work well together until success is achieved in the assigned project.

Other than the examples given above, handwriting analysis could also be used for other things such as for credit rating assistance, honesty of the business partner or even assessing supplier.

  Handwriting analysis could also be use for self-improvement, getting to know oneself better and the use of grapho-therapy as a medium to eliminate negative habits.

Handwriting analysis is a good tool for both individual and business improvement
